6 x White Beeswax Tea Lights

Set of 6 Ivory Beeswax Tea Lights.

How is white beeswax produced? – Interesting information below

All beeswax is produced in the wax glands of a bee’s abdomen and initially comes out a creamy colour.

After foraging, the bees bring nectar and pollen to the hive then nectar stains the beeswax to yellow.

To create white beeswax for the second time, there are two processes.

Either the wax is filtered through fine netted cloths 5 times or by using a natural medium

to help draw out the golden colour and return it back to it’s original white or by placing fine layers of beeswax under the sun.

Tealight Care

Never trim the wick of a beeswax tea light.

If you trim the wick it will be too short to create a hot enough flame to totally liquefy the wax.

This may mean that the flame will burn down the middle of the wax and when it reaches the bottom

it will go out leaving wax left stuck to the sides of the cup.

The beeswax must be totally liquefied so that the liquid wax is drawn into the wick in order

to complete the burn

Burn time approximately  5 hours dependent on draughts or room air flow.
